Restaurant names could sometimes be deceiving and 718 is a prime example of this. Its simple name doesn't tell us much, but what you'll find at this inconspicuous bistro is delicious French food, served in surprising ways--they even have tapas!

Atmosphere:
The modest exterior of 718 by no means does justice to its trendy interior. The decor is clean and contemporary, attracting a young and often international crowd. The weekends are bustling and reservations are recommended (especially on a Friday night when they have Latin music and dancing).

The dishes stay true to their French roots but are said to have a Spanish twist (click for menu). My favorite thing to get here--which is also easy on the wallet--are the Tarte Flambees. They're simply amazing--thin crust "pizza-esque" tartes with savory toppings such as onion & bacon, grilled veggies & goat cheese, mozzarella & fontina cheese, etc. The desserts are really worth saving room for and I'd urge you to try the Trio of Crem Brulee. 718 serves amazing brunch and although it seems a bit of a splurge you get a lot for your $22 prix fix--appetizer, main course, dessert and champagne!
Service:
I really can't complain in this area. Throughout my many visits here, the waitstaff has ALWAYS been cordial and attentive. I once had a problem with a large group--not everyone got their dishes at the same time--but it wasn't a huge deal.
