Queens Restaurant Week officially begins this Monday, September 15th. I've had my eye on it for a couple of weeks now, scouring some of the best deals out there. The clear winner in my opinion and the go-to place in Astoria is Zenon Taverna. Not only do they offer a 2 for $35 dinner special, they also boast a hefty menu consisting of 16 different mezedes or small plates. These include Mediterranean dips and sauces such as tzatziki, eggplant dip and even popular Americanized dishes such as fried calamari--there's something for everyone. The atmosphere is homey, the staff is friendly and the cuisine is among my favorites in Astoria. Again, the dinner special is 2 for $35 - 16 Mezedes
