I was delighted to find out that my favorite bagel shop in Astoria, Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company is opening up a third location on 30th Avenue. Passing by the storefront today, the sign says that it'll open in Spring 2009 (as in, now!) I'll make sure to keep my eye on it and will keep you in the loop about an approximate opening date.For those of you who aren't familiar with this place, they serve the hugest, fluffiest bagels in town. They're not cheap but so worth the price. Their "mini" bagels are the size of regular ones and are a good option if you don't want to overindulge.

You'll have to convince me they're better than The Bagel House on Ditmars.
ReplyDeleteI've never had Bagel House yet so I will have to try it and compare. But I've NEVER tasted a bagel like the one at Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company. My parents live on Long Island, which houses some of the best bagel shops and those don't stand a chance next to Brooklyn Bagel.
ReplyDeleteBagels should not be 'fluffy' or huge. A real old school brooklyn bagel is smaller and a bit denser. Long Island does not have the propper water for anything made with dough . Sorry , but these are just the facts. Cpug180
